Lepista nuda — Blewit — Tricholomataceae


Medium to large mushroom. Cap convex with an incurved margin, becoming broadly convex, then shallowly depressed, wavy at the margin; surface moist, smooth, purplish fading to deep brown. Gills attached, lavender fading to light brown. Stalk stout, equal or tapering above, slender, dry; pale lilac, becoming brown, with a purplish mycelium at the base. Saprophytic.
 
 
Habitat: In small groups and rings at roadsides, in grass, and in gardens and landscaped areas.

Scent: Citrus-like

Spores: Pinkish

Season: Autumn to early winter
