Medium to large mushroom. Convex to umbonate or plane cap, viscid, streaked with fibrils, pale gray to darker, including brownish or purple tones, with dark center and lighter margin. Gills attached or notched, white aging to pale gray or yellow. Stalk equal, smooth, white to yellowish. Mycorrhizal.
 
Habitat: Scattered to gregarious, terrestrial, conifers, often Douglas-fir.
