Stropharia albivelata — Strophariaceae


Small to medium mushroom. Broadly convex cap maturing to planar or somewhat umbonate, viscid, smooth or skin wrinkled, pale to dark vinaceous brown, pale margin, umbo darker. Gills attached, white aging to dark brown, close, white wrinkled edges. Stalk as tall as cap diameter, equal, fibrils or cottony above ring, base pallid with age. Veil white, leaving a persistent ring, striate above, cottony below. Saprophytic.

Synonym: Pholiota albivelata
 
Habitat: Solitary to scattered, woody debris, beneath conifers.

Scent: Mild

Spores: Cinnamon-brown

Season: Summer to Autumn
