Pholiota cf. decorata  — Strophariaceae


Small to large mushroom. Convex cap maturing to nearly planar or umbonate, viscid or slimy, dark brown fading to fawn color with pallid margin, with concentric rows of veil remnants that become patchy. Gills attached, close, somewhat broad, white to yellowish and aging to dingy gray. Tall stalk, equal, sometimes enlarged at base, yellowish above, with scales over dark lower portion. Fibrillose veil forming slight ring on stalk. Saprophytic.
 
Habitat: Solitary, scattered, or groups on humus and woody debris, fallen branches.

Scent: Not distinctive or mildly fragrant

Spores: Ochraceous

Season: Autumn
