Hebeloma sacchariolens  — Sweet Poisonpie — Strophariaceae


Small to large mushroom. Convex cap with inrolled margin, maturing to planar or sometimes with small umbo, viscid when moist, smooth, whitish to brown, with dark center and pale margin. Gills crowded. Attached or notched, pallid maturing to dull brown, with white edges. Stalk tall, equal or enlarged at base, white or cap color, with flakes at apex. Saprophytic.

Synonym: Hebeloma crustuliniforme

Habitat: Solitary, scattered, or groups or troops, terrestrial, disturbed areas, woods.

Scent: Sweet or fruity

Spores: Brown

Season: Autumn
