Coprinellus disseminatus — Fairy Bonnet — Psathyrellaceae


Small mushroom. Oval cap, expanding to convex or bell-shaped, whitish becoming grayish or grayish-brown, dark center, finely hairy when young, grooved. Gills attached or free, white, becoming blackish, does not deliquesce.  Stalk equal, taller than cap, narrow, white, hollow. Saprophytic.


Habitat: Gregarious, large clusters.

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: Black or blackish-brown

Season: Autumn
