Mycena subcana — Neutral Gray Mycena — Mycenaceae


Small mushroom. Oval to conical or bell-shaped cap, maturing convex, umbonate. Center dark brown, olive-brown otherwise, fading with age. Striate-translucent when moist, not viscid. Gills attached, spaced, whitish to pale gray. Tall stalk, equal or enlarged at base, color as with cap, downy at base.
 
Habitat: Solitary or in rows or pairs on dead woody debris, sometimes on live conifers.

Scent: Not distinctive
