Calocera viscosa —  Yellow False Coral — Dacrymycetaceae


Small jelly fungus, with the appearance of a coral mushroom. Fruiting body of a few very slender branches, tough but gelatinous, viscid, bright orange-gold. “Stalk” present as a pale or whitish base. Saprophytic.

Habitat:  In groups on decaying conifer logs and larger branches in Douglas-fir, western hemlock, and Sitka spruce forests. 

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: Yellowish

Season: Autumn
