Cortinarius pluvius —  Cortinariaceae


Medium mushroom. Cap convex, becoming plane or with a wavy margin, smooth, viscid; bright orange, orange-yellow near the margin. Gills white becoming olive, close. Stalk tall, usually slender throughout but sometimes thickened towards the base; white. Cortina conspicuous, becoming colored by the spores. Mycorrhizal.
 
 
Habitat:  Solitary or in small groups, in deep debris under Douglas-fir and Western Hemlock. 

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: Rusty-brown

Season: Autumn
