Cortinarius cf. substriatus —  Cortinariaceae


Small to medium mushroom. Cap broadly conical, smooth, viscid, light brown with a purplish tint. Gills purplish becoming cinnamon-brown. Stalk tall, tapering towards the top, purplish at the apex, becoming pallid. Absent or short, similar color to cap or darker. Mycorrhizal.
 
 
Habitat:  In small groups in deep debris under Douglas-fir and western hemlock.  

Scent: Not distinctive

Spores: Rusty-brown

Season: Autumn
